First Congregational Church sponsored a breakthrough worship service on Sunday, November, 14, 2001, when Senior Minister Dr. R. Scott Colglazier welcomed Imam Jihad Turk and Rabbi Joshua Levine Grater for an interfaith discussion of similarities, differences, and a common approach toward peace and understanding.

As posted on the FCCLA website:
"It is no secret that much of the strife and turmoil present in the world today stems from tensions between followers of the various major religions. Much can be done toward healing these rifts and divisions simply by seeing things from another point of view. On this heart-opening morning, Dr. Colglazier welcomes both a Rabbi and an Imam for a three-way conversation about God, Religion, Love and Forgiveness."
